“The VLP was my sanctuary. I could go there every day to keep out of the cold or the rain, have thousands of books to choose from, and learn how to navigate the computers.”

-Stephen Elliot, library patron

Library

Our community library provides excellent, free print and online resources. Over 7,000 Baltimore City residents now hold VLP library cards. Our collection of nearly 20,000 circulating books includes titles by classic and contemporary authors, as well as an excellent collection of children’s literature. We are always improving our new Special Collections, which include Local Interest, Gardening, Parenting, Cooking, and African-American History & Literature.

The VLP library also provides public access to free WiFi as well as computers with DSL Internet connections. Over 75 periodicals and newspapers, endowed by the Grace Darin Memorial Fund, connect patrons with current events.
