Search - Help

How to Search:

There are two main ways to search the database. The first way involves typing in something that you want to search for and the second way involves uploading a file that contains values that you want to search for. The second way is convenient if you have a list of names or numbers (like social security numbers or birth dates) that you want to search for.

  1. First, select the field in the database that you want to search.
  2. Select how you want to search that field. This step is only required when you are typing in something to search for. If you are going to upload a file, your search will be of the Is variety (see below for a description of an Is search).
    • Contains means that the contents of the field in the database that you want to search should contain the text that you type in.
    • Is means that the contents of the field in the database that you want to search should match the text that you type in. This matching is not case sensitive.
    • > (greater than) means that the contents of the field in the database that you want to search should be greater than the data you type in.
    • < (less than) means that the contents of the field in the database that you want to search should be less than the data you type in.
  3. Type what you are searching for in the space provided or browse for the file that you want to upload.
  4. Select the field in the database that you would like the results of your search to be ordered by.
  5. Select how you want the records to be ordered
    • Ascending means low to high, or A to Z.
    • Descending means high to low, or Z to A.

NOTE:

  • To find all of the records, simply leave all of the fields blank and click on the 'Submit' button.
