Village Learning Place library vandalized March 16, programming continues

Posted on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 by Melissa Howison

In the early morning on Saturday, March 16, the glass front door of the Village Learning Place was shattered and an individual (or individuals) entered the building and stole several items of value. The shattered window has been removed and temporarily replaced by a wooden panel until a new window can be installed.

The Village Learning Place is working with several community groups to identify the person or people responsible. We believe they are better than this destructive act, and we hope to work with them directly to restore their relationship with the community and our organization.

Thank you to everyone who responded to this news with support and compassion, including the VLP staff, board members, and community volunteers who helped clean and repair damage this weekend. Thanks, also, to the VLP patrons who were patient and understanding as the library was closed unexpectedly Saturday.

We will post updates as they become available. Please continue to use and care for our facilities in the interim. The library will remain open during regular hours this week, and programs will continue as scheduled.
