Who Lived in Your House? Uncovering the History of a Baltimore Neighborhood

Presented by Joshua A. Cohen

To prepare for the centennial of his North Baltimore subdivision on Cloverhill and Canterbury Roads, Josh set out to discover the nieghborhood’s history. Josh built family trees for the homeowners of all 84 houses by tracing deeds and relations online. He gathered extensive biographical details of those first families and contacted their descendents, who provided personal photos and recollections. Josh will share his most exciting finds and techniques that residents of any neighborhood can use to explore the history of their homes.

Baltimore History Evenings is a monthly series of presentations and discussions held on the third Thursday of every month from January to June. All events are free and open to the public. Baltimore History Evenings are made available through a partnership between the Village Learning Place and the Baltimore City Historical Society.
