Rafael Alvarez has been writing about his hometown of Baltimore for more than 40 years.
A veteran of the Baltimore Sun City Desk, Alvarez is a former staff writer of the HBO drama “The Wire,” and the author of a dozen books.
On September 14 at the VLP, he will talk about his latest book: “Don’t Count Me Out: The Miraculous
Recovery of a Baltimore Dope Fiend,” published by Cornell University Press.
Alvarez is looking forward to discussing all things Baltimore and taking questions from the audience.
