Kicking off National Library week, Read Between the Wines is a fabulous live and silent auction, dinner and dance party.  At 2013’s event, The VLP will be unveiling Baltimore’s first little free libraries!

Join us for delicious food provided by Donna’s and Gertrude’s with beer, wine, and bubbles provided by the Wine Source, exciting live and silent auctions, and music by LovecraftDon’t miss the literary event of the season!

Our live auction features a week in a luxurious Colorado vacation home (with two round trip plane tickets to get you there and back!); the Mayor’s Skybox at Camden Yards with a bat signed by opening day home-run-hitter Matt Wieters; and five gorgeous and unique Little Free Libraries designed and decorated by five local artists; Kathy Pinto, Megan Wiessner, Jim Pettit Jr., Katie Pumphrey, and Doug Williams.

Advance tickets are available through Thursday, April 11. Tickets can also be purchased at the door for $60.

Proceeds from the event benefit the innovative and powerful work of the Village Learning Place, including:

  • A library with over 20,000 books in circulation and 7,000 card holders
  • LINK (Let’s Invest in Neighborhood Kid’s), The VLP’s Nationally recognized after-school and summer program for youth
  • Educational classes and cultural events for all ages
  • A thriving community garden and neighborhood gathering space
