Director of Development

The Village Learning Place is seeking a Director of Development to join its dynamic staff. This is a full time, exempt position. This position will provide an individual with initiative, dedication, and a desire to serve the community with opportunities for personal growth and job satisfaction. 

Strong written, oral, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary. 

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a professional development role. Prior experience with Donor Perfect or other fundraising software and QuickBooks software is necessary.   

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, execution, management, and evaluation of all fundraising efforts at the Village Learning Place (VLP), including grant writing, annual giving, major gifts, development and stewardship of donors, corporate sponsorship, and fundraising events. Additionally, the Director of Development oversees all donor correspondence and external communications.

This position works closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and the Development & Public Relations Committee (a standing committee of the Board of Directors), and serves as a member of the VLP leadership team.
