LINK (Let’s Invest in Neighborhood Kids) is an initiative offering programs and services to strengthen our entire community.

LINK After School 2020–2021

September 14th – May 28th

Online Monday — Friday, 3:00 – 5:00pm

LINK After School will be virtual for the beginning of the 2020-2021 year.Please join us for online sessions each afternoon or use VLP resources to keep learning from your very own home! 

Online Enrichment and Homework Help 

  • LINK students can log on to receive assistance to reinforce school day learning. Programming will include academics & enrichment along with tutoring/homework assistance. It has always been and will remain our goal to aid students in classroom learning. 

Learning Totes for Early Learners  

  • VLP will develop Learning Totes for our PreK & K students filled with books, games, puzzles, and educational resources. Totes can be checked out for 1-2 weeks then exchanged for a different tote filled with new & exciting learning activities. 

At-Home Activities 

  • VLP will develop and distribute bi-weekly activities that students can do at home with no or limited technology. Kits will be distributed to all LINK families and will include reading and math games, STEM and tinkering activities, and arts & crafts! 

Grab & Go Meal Service 

  • VLP will distribute snack and supper daily, Monday to Thursday. Meals will be served grab & go from the front of the VLP Library at 2521 St. Paul Street. 

Educational and Enrichment Videos 

  • Check out the Village Learning Place’s Youtube channel for Storytime, Art, STEM, and other enrichments that are fun to watch and will help grow your brain! 

LINK After School serves Pre-Kindergarten to 6th Grade students every day, Monday-Friday. The program provides students with free, challenging, dynamic programming and nutritious snacks and supper every weekday throughout the school year. The academic focus of the LINK programs is on reading, science, and mathematics, with quality instruction and research-based curricula. The enrichment component of LINK After School includes engineering, art, computer lessons, character education and physical activities.

  • Returning LINK Students – For the ease of our participants and families, we have elected to auto-enroll students this school year. If you participated in LINK After School during 2019-2020 or LINK Summer 2020, then we only need updated contact information.
