LINK Summer
Explore, learn, & grow.
Pre-K to 5th grade
Pre-K through 5th graders are invited to LINK (Let’s Invest in Neighborhood Kids) Summer from Monday, June 29th through Friday, August 7th, 9am to 4pm.
Program will be closed July 3rd in observance of Independence Day.
LINK Summer at the Village Learning Place is a dynamic, educational program offering lessons in
literacy, math, and science, plus enrichment workshops and weekly field trips!
Students will receive breakfast and lunch through our partnership with Good Harvest Summer Meals Program, and VLP will provide a morning and afternoon snack for students.
Join us for our Family Fun Night on Thursday, July 9th, and our End of Summer Celebration on Thursday, August 6th, to check out what our students have been up to this summer!
Please see below for our pre-registration form and all enrollment instructions. Pre–registration holds your spot in line while we process the first round of applicants. If a spot is available for your student, you will receive an email with a link to our online application. Our 1st and 2nd grade classroom is currently at capacity, and we are only accepting students to the waitlist at this time.
Empowerment through education.
Explore New Skills and Interests
During the program, students will have the opportunity to work with staff to enhance their skills in math, science, and reading. Our teachers and classroom assistants will help to reinforce what students learned during the school year to help prevent the achievement gaps. We will also include important elements of character education in our curriculum like building relationships, identifying feelings, and being a strong community member to name a few.
Enrichment
Students will be exposed to new skills and ideas through enrichment classes like painting, mindfulness, fitness, dancing, visual art, cooking, gardening, technology, and many more.
Exploration
We understand that learning should be fun and doesn’t always take place in the classroom. Our students will be able to enjoy learning in our garden, in our historic library, on community walks, and during our Friday field trips. Students and program staff will attend field trips to places like the zoo, aquarium, museums, beaches, and other destinations that will capture students’ imaginations.
