Empowering our youth
Let's Invest in Neighborhood Kids
Holistic Support for Youth Development
The LINK program is designed to provide comprehensive support for children and teens at every stage of their educational journey. From preschool readiness to high school enrichment, our initiatives focus on building confidence, academic skills, and social connections that empower kids to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Bridging the Educational Gap
By offering free, accessible programs that complement traditional schooling, the LINK program helps bridge educational disparities within our community. Through tutoring, mentorship, and hands-on learning opportunities, we equip students with the tools they need to succeed academically and in life.
Engaging Families and Communities
We believe that empowering youth starts with engaging families and communities. Our programs actively involve parents and guardians, fostering an environment of support and encouragement. With strong family involvement, we help create a network of care that bolsters every child’s potential for success.
Building brighter futures - together.
At the heart of the LINK program is our commitment to investing in the future of our children and the community. We provide enriching, hands-on learning experiences that develop critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. By partnering with families, schools, and local organizations, we ensure that each child has the support they need to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we’re shaping a brighter, more connected future for the next generation.
Notice of Intent to Apply for 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant
The Village Learning Place is pleased to share that the organization intends to apply for a 21st Century Community Learning Center (21stCCLC) grant through the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) this summer 2026. Currently in our third and final year of grant support, the VLP will be reapplying for summer and school year program funding through this competitive RFP process. In 1994, the U.S. Congress authorized the establishment of the 21st CCLC program to provide a broad and consistent source for out-of-school time funding. The Every Student Succeeds Act was signed by President Obama on December 15, 2015 to reauthorize 21st CCLC funding, originally part of the No Child Left Behind Act. The purpose of the 21st CCLC is to create community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities as well as additional services to complement their regular school day academics. For more information or to discuss partnership opportunities for out-of-school programming at the VLP, please email VLPnews@villagelearningplace.org.
